Clairfields is a newer south-Guelph residential area developed around Clair Road and the city's expanding southern edge. The neighbourhood includes detached homes, townhouses, stacked or apartment-style condominiums and newer rental buildings. Its streets and housing generally reflect more recent suburban planning than central Guelph.
Commercial services along Clair Road and Gordon Street are a major part of everyday life in the area. The neighbourhood is also connected to south-end parks, schools and the Hanlon corridor.
Approximate location
Clairfields is generally associated with the far south end around Clair Road, Gordon Street, Poppy Drive and Gosling Gardens. The name is often used most strongly for areas west of Gordon Street, while Pine Ridge and Westminster Woods are commonly used east of Gordon.
Housing and streetscape
Housing includes detached two-storey homes, townhouses, semi-detached properties and condominium buildings. Many properties were built from the late 1990s onward, though development continues and individual pockets differ in age.
Parks, trails and landmarks
Clair Park provides trails, play equipment and a basketball half court. South End Community Park includes sports facilities, courts, trails, a splash pad and play areas. Additional parks and pathways are distributed through newer subdivisions.

Clair Road, Gordon Street and the Hanlon Expressway provide the main connections. The area is close to south-end shopping and services, with transit routes linking toward the university and downtown.
